🌸 China Aster Seeds produce the beautiful Milady Deep Blue variety, one of the finest compact asters for gardens, borders and containers. This outstanding annual is appreciated for its spectacular deep blue chrysanthemum type flowers, compact habit, long flowering period and reliable performance throughout the growing season.
Growing only about 25 cm tall, the plants develop sturdy stems carrying numerous fully double flowers up to 8 cm across. Their compact size makes them ideal for flower beds, borders, patios, balconies, window boxes and decorative containers.
This variety is highly resistant to heat and wilting, producing continuous blooms from early summer until the first hard autumn frost. The attractive flowers also draw butterflies and other beneficial pollinators into the garden while making excellent cut flowers that remain fresh in a vase for 8 to 10 days.
China Aster Milady Deep Blue has received the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for its exceptional ornamental value, dependable flowering and excellent garden performance.

Grow in full sun using fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Good drainage, regular watering and adequate air circulation ensure vigorous plants and abundant flowering.
🌾 Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors from March to April about 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, or sow directly outdoors from April to May after the soil has warmed. Cover seeds lightly with fine compost or vermiculite. Germination normally takes 7 to 14 days. Plant spacing should be 25 to 40 cm.
🌿 Care and Maintenance
Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming. Water moderately, keeping the soil evenly moist without becoming waterlogged. Monitor plants for aphids and rotate planting locations every year to reduce the possibility of Fusarium wilt.

Excellent for borders, bedding displays, containers, window boxes and cut flower arrangements. Avoid planting asters in the same location during consecutive years to help prevent soil-borne diseases.
