This variety produces vigorous plants loaded with large hanging peppers weighing 150–180 grams. The fruits have a distinctive flattened, slightly ribbed, globe-like shape with exceptionally thick walls and juicy, sweet flesh. During technical maturity the peppers are a deep green, gradually turning a beautiful bright red as they fully ripen.
Unlike many commercial pepper varieties that focus only on appearance, Ratund stands out because of its outstanding flavor. The flesh is thick, crisp, naturally sweet, and incredibly juicy, making it one of the best peppers for both fresh consumption and cooking.

The peppers remained wonderfully firm, absorbed the brine perfectly, and developed an incredible sweet flavor. ❄️ Winter Hardiness: Pepper plants are not frost tolerant. Temperatures below 0°C (32°F) can seriously damage or kill the plants. For vigorous growth and maximum production, daytime temperatures between 22–30°C (72–86°F) are ideal.

🌱 Sowing Instructions
Start seeds indoors approximately 8–10 weeks before the last expected frost.
Sow the seeds 5–8 mm (¼ inch) deep in a quality seed-starting mix.
Maintain temperatures between 24–28°C (75–82°F) for the best germination.
Seeds usually germinate within 10–20 days.
After the seedlings develop several true leaves and outdoor temperatures become consistently warm, transplant them into the garden, greenhouse, or containers, allowing approximately 40–50 cm between plants.
Regular feeding with a balanced fertilizer will promote continuous flowering and excellent fruit production throughout the season.

Ratund peppers perform best in sunny locations with fertile soil and regular watering. Applying mulch helps retain moisture and reduces weed growth.
Although the plants are sturdy, those carrying exceptionally heavy crops may benefit from simple support stakes later in the season.
