There are two different varieties in question, for which we are no longer sure which are the exact varieties. The fruits are large and orange in color when ripe and of course edible.
Passiflora coerulea L. Christ's wreath is a climbing plant that can overwinter outside in sheltered places and with protection. During the season in a pot it can reach 3m.
The leaves of the plant are finger-shaped. The flowers are white or purple. Above the star-shaped flower petals are numerous threads, 5 yellow pistils and 3 brown pistils.
