It has a long growing season, usually 140-150 days from transplanting seedlings to harvest. The variety "Polar" is intended for direct consumption in a fresh state, as well as for pickling. Its heads are quite large and can weigh up to 3-4 kg. The leaves are densely packed, forming compact, solid heads, the great advantage of which is resistance to breaking. Cabbage is an important part of the diet: it contains a lot of vitamin C and a large amount of potassium, magnesium, iron and calcium. It can be used in various dishes, fresh and processed.
Cabbage is most often grown from seedlings. Seedlings are transported to the field after the formation of 4-6 true leaves from mid-May to the end of June. Cabbage grows well in Central European climates. It gives the richest yields on fertile soils that are rich in calcium. It also requires proper fertilization and a large amount of water, especially in the development phase.
